A dedicated individual with over 12 years of experience navigating the complex landscape of parenting a child with profound health and disability challenges. Alongside her role as a devoted mother, she boasts over two decades of teaching experience, shaping young minds and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Her journey as a mother of a child with disabilities has illuminated the critical need for truly person-centered services. Margie has been at the forefront of advocating for these services, recognizing the importance of passionate caregivers who deeply understand the unique abilities and needs of individuals living with disabilities, as well as the vital support required by their families.
As a consumer representative member of WARDA, Margie has lent her voice to families with children who have cerebral palsy, striving to ensure their perspectives are heard and valued in shaping services. Additionally, her active involvement with Therapy Focus, a leading therapy provider in Western Australia, has allowed her to contribute directly to enhancing support systems for people with disabilities.
Margie’s commitment to advocacy and the rights of people living with disabilities has led her to participate in a diverse range of workshops and focus groups including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), advocating for policies and services that prioritize individual needs and empowerment.
Driven by her passion and firsthand experiences, Margie embarked on the journey of establishing a provider service dedicated to offering tailored support that truly meets the diverse needs of clients. Her involvement in various community initiatives and programs underscores her unwavering dedication to making meaningful contributions to the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.
Margie possesses invaluable insights into the perspectives of both service providers and clients, enabling her to bridge the gap and advocate for holistic and inclusive support systems. Through her tireless efforts and unwavering passion, Margie continues to advocate and fight for the empowerment of individuals with disabilities and their families
